Funding is given on the basis of applications submitted by the performer him/herself, by the arranger, by the producer or others. The board of the Fund decides who is to receive support. For the most part funding is given to freelance activities and to independent groups. Creative artists such as composers, writers, choreographers etc. cannot apply for personal support or grants from the Fund.

Recordings
Applications can be made for funding for recordings to be made in Norway with the participation of musicians who mainly live and work in Norway. If applications for funding have been made to several bodies, this must be indicated in the application. The Fund does not provide full financial cover for a recording, and only gives support to projects in which commercial distribution is ensured. Funding is not given for the recording of a single, EP or demo, or for recordings in process or completed. A separate application form must be used.
The application must include: · Name and address of the main artist (if the application is made by someone other than the artist)
· Title of the record, name and CV of the participating artists
· Distributor and place of recording
· Recording period and date of issue
· Genre
· Budget

Project funding
Project funding is divided into music, dance, theatre and musical theatre. Applications can be made for funding for concerts, tours, production of performances, staging of performances etc. The Fund does not provide support for the purchase of instruments and equipment, nor can support be given to ongoing or completed projects. Project funding is given as a guarantee against loss. The application must be made in a letter or on the application form.
The application must include:
· Information about the project
· Name and CV of participating artists
· Rehearsal period and/or performance period
· Number of concerts/performances
· Budget
· Genre (in the case of music)

Travel grant
Applications can be made for a grant for short art-related trips. A grant of up to NOK 6 000 per person may be awarded. The application must be made in a letter or on the application form.
The application must contain information about:
· Destination
· Purpose
· Date of trip
· Budget

Course/seminar activities
Applications can be made for funding for courses and seminars geared towards professional artists. The application must be made in a letter or on the application form.

Grants
The Fund awards grants for travel and continuing education once a year. Applications can be made for a longer stay abroad, for example to attend a course or a school or to take private lessons to promote continued development as a performing artist. To be considered for this grant, the applicant must be able to show that he/she has a professional career.
